This update improves Outlook account setup and import reliability.

  • Outlook.com, Hotmail, Live, MSN, and Microsoft 365 accounts now use Microsoft sign-in and Microsoft Graph for newsletter import.
  • Fixes an Outlook setup failure where Microsoft sign-in worked but the IMAP mailbox session could still be refused.
  • Outlook setup now validates selected folders before saving.
  • Account setup now closes after a successful Save in Settings.
  • Refines the account folder row layout so selected folders and the Edit button line up more naturally.

This update improves read and unread handling for connected mail accounts, while keeping Letterboxx fast and local-first.

  • Added per-account Read status controls in Settings > Accounts.
  • Choose whether each account keeps read/unread changes local, sends them to the mail server, or also refreshes recent read/unread status from the mail server during checks.
  • Account setup and onboarding now clarify that Letterboxx imports newsletter copies from selected IMAP folders, that your original messages stay in your connected mail account unless you delete them and then remove them from Letterboxx's Trash, and that downloading newsletters does not mark messages read on the server.
  • Local reading stays immediate; optional mail-server updates run quietly in the background, with lighter read-status refresh work during sync.
  • Existing accounts can now save Read status changes without retesting the connection when connection details have not changed.
  • Menu commands now stay disabled until the needed account setup or newsletter selection is available.
  • Fixed a rare crash path in the newsletter list's native Mac swipe-action support.
